WELCOME TO THE PRECIPE MOTORSPORTS
I’ve always been interested in Vintage Racecars and finally decided to jump in and purchase a Formula Ford Swift DB1. After purchasing the car, I realized that not much historical information came with the car. I had a log book that had a SCCA number in it but not a chassis number. Not being familiar with the car or chassis numbering I was left with a bit of a mystery. After spending a lot of hours calling people familiar with the car and looking at other cars, I found the chassis number had been covered by a past driver wanting to raise the broom line of the car. I ended up cutting the addition off and found that the chassis number was still readable. After this experience, I wanted to create a place to capture and store the information.

GOALS
The goal of Precipice Motorsports is to provide a registry of purpose-built vintage race cars. Eventually, the site will provide a registry for all purpose-built race vehicles. The registry is not specific to one style of vehicle or manufacturer but open to all. The registry will display a few key bits of information: Manufacturer, Year, Chassis number, Owner’s first name, Location, and Picture of the car. For this to work, racing community support is needed. Owners will need to provide key information about their cars.
